Original Painting for Sale, Lost & Found (2005) « Result #7 on Aug 4, 2009, 2:04pm »
Hi Everyone,
I'm putting this original Adam Neate painting up for grabs here before I put it on ebay. This painting's been with me for almost 4 years and would like to make sure it goes to a good home
I found it on Brick Lane on a rainy morning in the spring of 2005. Can't remember the exact date but I was on my way to Uni when I bumped into it.
The painting is huge 75cm x 55cm and it's double sided! On 1 side there is a great drawing, quite original! On the other there is a big head that unfortunately is slightly smudged due to the rain that day.
I really like this painting but I'm raising some money to buy a new instrument for my band and sadly this is the only way I can think of getting some...
Feel free to send me your offers and I'll get back to you.

Don't know how long this has been on Elms' site but it sais the following:
"ADAM NEATE: A NEW UNDERSTANDING 9 October - 21 November 2009 Tuesday - Saturday 12 - 6pm, Thursdays 'til 8pm
Adam Neate's eagerly anticipated second solo show, following from his landmark exhibition, PAINTINGS, POTS and PRINTS in 2007 will be held between 9th October - 21st November 2009.
Best known for his use of cardboard and aerosol paint, this new series of paintings have taken on a 3D sculptural quality by further incorporating perspex, metal, collage and other sourced objects, demonstrating his innate understanding of composition, perspective and movement whilst still retaining his impeccable line. "
It better be good.. since his site is down I miss my shot of Neate daily..

looking to invest in a neate original. « Result #45 on Feb 27, 2009, 9:50pm »
Hello.
I am Looking at investing in one of Adams original pieces, i am aware that the days of cheap Neates are over, but i Believe in this climate i can find something that agrees with my budget. What would Every ones advice be on price points? am i right in thinking gallery pieces are 30-40k? and street pieces anywhere from 1-10k?
also am i right in thinking that there is a may urban art sale? would this be a good time to purchase one (if there is any in the lot!)
and finally i have been offered a full set of prints (the original 9 + the seperate 4 which were released) is around the 17-18k a good price for this?
thanks again for any advice given its has been great fully received.
Artwork signed 'Pure' or 'Puke' « Result #47 on Feb 26, 2009, 9:47am »
With a heart as part of the signature. I have good reason to believe that it's connected to Neate in some way, but don't know whether it's him or possibly an associate. Has anyone come across this signature before? It's dated 2004.
Bailey ? is he neate? « Result #49 on Feb 21, 2009, 2:52pm »
Hi I found a street piece in Kent marked Bailey and www.b08.co.uk really good canvas original, some are saying Bailey is a pseudonym for Adam Neate? Any one else heard this?
Bailey seems to be dropping art all over London. I really like his work

I wish I had 1000 in my pocket to spend on a Neate piece, It is a shame that Banksy always steals the show with the press. His Kate Moss pieces are up for a whopping 100 to 150k! It will be interesting with the crunch and all to see what they go for!

Elms Lesters are just about to release their book...the bible! It's not cheap at £175 (price will probably increase to about £1k over time though so an investment in itself) but it's defo worth a read, especially with regards to Adam's work. If you've got time i'd suggest nipping down them in person over the next wk, they've got some amazing orginal pieces currently on display. Kev

Re: Found anything? « Result #76 on Nov 20, 2008, 8:15pm »
No, no symbol or signature. Its only the fact that the blocky brushstroke shading is familiar to some of his other works I've seen online (and the fact that it was left in the street). It may well not be (I'm certainly no expert), but its fun to explore these ideas.

I was given one of his latest ones by a colleague at work, he had no idea what it was and thought that i could use it as basis for another artwork (i'm an art student) no. 179/1000 on a green background. The start of my very own art collection!
Re: Gutted their on ebay « Result #82 on Nov 16, 2008, 12:25pm »
It does suck but it goes along with any collectible market, since its already happening hopefully it will go to the extremes where so many are on ebay the price goes down really low so anyone who wants one can get one.

Re: Adam Neate - Give Away! « Result #88 on Nov 16, 2008, 12:14am »
From dusk till dawn I was a babbling - nervous wreck, created by a spark of urgency to seize control of reality, by a force to seize destiny and create my own luck.
Trawling through message boards prior to the drop off, then the dirty streets of London through the allotted times, looking for clues, hunting for art by an artist I am not even really a fan of.
There, I've said it, and on the Adam Neate forum as well. But wait before condemning me to a lifetime of the Tate Britain.
There I was, scouring London, questioning whether a palette may have been placed in an alleyway on purpose due to its hidden message, or whether that piece of cardboard and plastic once held the remains of something special and I was, indeed, just two minutes out of sync with the placing of something special.
Adam Neate drew out of me something which, to me is questionable, and that is my Artistic Morals.
I am a 21 year old student; poor, impoverished and sleep deprived.
I am also an Art Lover, pining over Parla's, Osegemeos', Delta's (especially Delta's), Frosts, Anthony Listers and TFreaks galore. (Nb. most of Elms Lesters exhibitors)
But.
I have spoken out about how Neate is not to my taste, I do not get it, I can't get it. I read the Adam and Ron book and tried to look at it from a different view, but my critical tastes disallowed it.
But then The London Show came to town and I became curious.
My Pretentiousness wanted me to understand whether ‘the art’ was in the leaving of the art, or the adventure which it evoked. Whether it was the urban and contemporary adventure or the two fingers to the Critic, Dealer and Auctioneers ‘50% plus VAT’.
But the thing that most concerned me was my morals. I became desperate to get my hands on one, but if I did, what would I do?
I noted above that I am a poor student, and an art lover, see my predicament? Do I... Flip for the immediate cash-in? Or keep for definite increased value? Or Keep because I genuinely love the concept of art for free - even though I am not a fan?
The short of it, and yes I have rattled on enough, I didn't get a piece of Adam's work.
But.
I spent a night out with seven mates, most of whom had never heard of Adam Neate and couldn’t understand why he might do this; we looked for treasure and enjoyed the random thoughts of how Art is just the face of so many hidden questions, mainly those of the self.
P.S: I am now a born again fan of Adam's for life.

That's a really nice tale of you and your son. I wondered around for about 3 hours last night. I did end up getting a painting. I went to ELMS gallery and Adam was there with a few he handed out. I continued to walk and search because I wanted to discover one. No luck but I did find streets and alleyways I didn't even know where there. Great project

Just got home at midnight last night with my 14yr old. We'd been in Enfield Town on an art treasure hunt. My son has never before been interested in art but tonight, for him, it meant something. To date art lessons have been an endurance but for the first time something captured his imagination. No amount of telling him that you don't need to be able to draw to appreciate art went a fraction of the way that tonights events did. We were not lucky enough to find a print but we still got a lot out of it. Thank you Adam Neate

959 was found at 23:48 in the 2nd car of Central Line Train 05 at West Ruislip when I was changing ends to take it back through to Epping.
I wasn't due to be driving this train tonight but one of my colleagues got a flat tyre on the way to work and as I was the night shift spare I had to run for him.
